Advance your patterns! - Class / Workshop - Tuesday 20th June

Do you understand the basics of using patterns and making small adjustments to length and size, but want to do more to make your clothes fit you? Then this is the class for you! Come along to look at making more advanced pattern adjustments for your makes.

Join Angie from the Geeky Seamstress to learn about more complex adjustments you can make when making clothes to fit you. Angie started The Geeky Seamstress in 2020 while being furloughed from her full time job and together we help the customers of Royal Wootton Bassett with alterations and other sewing needs.

We will look at making adjustments to areas such as the bust, shoulders, back and bum. You don’t need your sewing machine for this one just a pattern, pen and paper and enthusiasm! 

Once you have purchased your course you will be emailed a 10% off code to purchase a pattern for either before or after the class

Who is this workshop for?

· Anyone who wants to make more personalised dress making / sewing patterns adjustments 

· Basic sewing knowledge required.

· Suitable for people that can sew a garment and read a sewing pattern 

· Please bring your pattern you would like to work through (no sewing machine needed this time) but don't worry tracing paper is included in this course 

What will be covered in the 2 hours?

· You will look at making adjustments to areas such as the bust, shoulders, back and bum

· Together you will work make some adjustments to patterns 

· Discussing the differences between paper and pdf patterns and tracing off the pattern before making adjustments so you always have the orginal to refer to

FAQs

Will I need to own a machine? – Not for this workshop just a sewing pattern

Is a Sewing Pattern provided in this course? – No but we email you 10% off code to buy a pattern once the purchase of the workshop comes through to us.

Parking? - after 6pm there is no time limit on the side of the road so parking will be free 

What is supplied? – a help guide to take away to refer back on

What is available to be borrowed during the class? – we will have plenty of pens to get all your notes down

What do I need to bring? – sewing pattern, pen and notebook, all your questions and a charged phone / camera device

· Please arrive before 6pm if possible so we can make full use of the time we have

· Workshop size is 4 people

· Tea making and water facilities are available

· Cloth of Gold is wheelchair accessible by a ramp
