Riot Chunky Ribbed Crochet Hat
A quick and easy crochet bobble hat!!
All you will need are the following... (with links for easy purchasing)
1 to 2 x Balls of Riot Chunky (depending on size)
1x Tape Measure
1x Yarn Needle
1x Pom Pom Maker optional
Chain a length that measures when held taught between 10 - 12 inches or 26 - 31cm for a standard sized hat. This will create the length from the top of the hat to the folded over edge.
Row 1- In the second chain from the hook HTR (half treble crochet) continue the rest of the row with HTRs once you get to the end of the row chain 1
Row 2 - Again in the second chain from the hook HTR but this time in the BL (back loop only) continue the rest of the row with BLHTRs and chain 1 at the end of the row
By working in the back loop only this will create the ribbed effect.
Repeat Row 2 until your work is 17-20 inch or 44 - 50cm or it fits around your head.
Fold your hat in half, and slip stitch into the sides by sewing up the hat using the same yarn weave in and out of the top edge. Keep as close to the edge as possible to close up the top and pull the thread closed. Leave a tail as this will help attach the Pom Pom on the inside, if required.
