Bag Making - Class / Workshop - Sunday 5th & 12th May 2024

Do you want to practice your zip skills into a full item or just interest in bag making? Then this is the workshop for you in this 2 part course you will make a simple bag with a zip closure using 2 fat quarters there maybe homework between sessions depending what is completed within the time.

PLEASE NOTE -   NO SUPPLIES ARE INCLUDED!! - you will need 2 fat quarters, 12" zip, interfacing and thread to complete the workshop

Join Angie from the Geeky Seamstress to get started sewing. Angie started The Geeky Seamstress in 2020 while being furloughed from her full time job and together we help the customers of Royal Wootton Bassett with alterations and other sewing needs.

Who is this workshop for?

· Anyone who understands the basics of sewing and construction

· Anyone who wants to get into the world of bag making

· Wants to get another skill added to their sewing knowledge

What will be covered in the 2 sessions hours?

· How to interface your fabric to give your bag more structure 

· The importance of the order in which to make a bag to make each step easier to construct 

· To get a good zip insertion and to make it look neat with top stitching

· How to line the bag so that all the seams are hidden away

FAQs

Will I need to own a machine? - No we have ones available to use but as each model is different we would rather you bring your own to get the best lesson possible

Parking? - after 6pm there is no time limit on the side of the road so parking will be free 

What is supplied? - No materials to help you use up your stash

What is available to be borrowed during the class? - we have a basic sewing kit that each person can use each session so that there is no waiting or sharing 

What do I need to bring? - you will need 2 fat quarters, 12" zip, interfacing and thread to complete the workshop and your sewing machine

· Please arrive before 10am if possible so we can make full use of the time we have

· Workshop size is 3 people

· Tea making and water facilities are available

· Cloth of Gold is wheelchair accessible by a ramp
