Make Jamie Pyjama Trousers - Class / Workshop - Wednesday 13th & 20th March 2024

Do you want to make a garment from start to finish? In this 2 part course you will start with cutting out the pattern and cutting out the fabric along with homework between courses. Then on the second workshop you will start sewing the pieces together.

PLEASE NOTE -  THIS ONLY INCLUDES THE PATTERN AND NO FABRIC  

Join Angie from the Geeky Seamstress to assist you throughout the process of making a garment from pattern to sewing. Angie started The Geeky Seamstress in 2020 while being furloughed from her full time job and together we help the customers of Royal Wootton Bassett with alterations and other sewing needs.

Who is this workshop for?

· Anyone who wants to make a easy garment from start to finish or has never tackled trousers 

· Basic sewing knowledge required.

· Suitable for people that can use their sewing machine for the basics 

· On the 1st workshop you will just need to bring yourself however on the 2nd workshop you will need to bring your sewing machine and all your fabric cut out along with relevant notions to complete the lesson.

What will be covered in the 2 x 1 1/2 hours?

· You will begin with working out how to pick what size you want to cut out

· Then learn tips of how to cut out your size

· Finally on your first lesson you will learn how to pin the pattern to the fabric covering things like layout and where to place them to achieve the right cut piece

· Next lesson will be about making the garment from how to ensure your match the notches to getting the right seam allowance and stitch etc. We talk about the terminology within the pattern and sewing tips along the way

FAQs

Will I need to own a machine? – No we have ones available to use but as each model is different we would rather you bring your own to get the best lesson possible

Is a Sewing Pattern provided in this course? – Yes but no fabric

Is a Fabric and Notions provided in this course? No but the Jamie Tilly and the buttons pattern is 

Parking? - after 6pm there is no time limit on the side of the road so parking will be free 

What is supplied? – a help guide to take away to refer back on and the Jamie pattern in size 6 - 34

What is available to be borrowed during the class? – we have a basic sewing kit that each person can use each session so that there is no waiting or sharing

What do I need to bring? – we have a basic sewing kit that each person can use each session so that there is no waiting or sharing

Fabric you will need to buy or bring from your stash for the trousers for 140cm wide along with elastic and/or drawstring and a matching thread
